Children wait months to see NHS orthodontist

Available for over a year

A number of parents have told 麻豆社 CWR their children haven't been seen by an NHS orthodontist in Coventry for months after having their braces fitted. 麻豆社 CWR spoke to several parents, none of whom wanted to use their real names over concerns it could affect their relationship with their dentist at Torcross Dental Practice. Sarah's 15 year-old daughter hasn't been seen since last October. A spokesperson for Torcross Dental, said: "Like many clinics across the sector, we occasionally face recruitment challenges following the departure of our orthodontist late last year. 鈥淒ue to wider challenges in securing orthodontists, it took several weeks to appoint a replacement specialist. 鈥淲e regret the impact this transition has had on some patients and any inconvenience caused. A new orthodontist has now been appointed, with all outstanding cases either completed or scheduled, and we remain fully committed to delivering the highest standards of care and patient support.鈥 (image credit: Getty)
