Available for over a year

One of the most significant battles of the English Civil War took place in the West Midlands more than 380 years ago. The Battle of Birmingham – or the Battle of Camp Hill as it’s also known – took place on 3rd April 1643. The English Civil War saw King Charles I and his Royalist troops take on Oliver Cromwell and his Parliamentarian army. The conflict led to the arrest and eventual execution of King Charles I. Russell Truran visited the site of The Battle Of Birmingham to find out more about what happened. Image: Getty
