Algeria’s Bouteflika resigns

After weeks of protests against his rule, President Abdelaziz Bouteflika of Algeria says he has resigned with immediate effect. The Âé¶¹Éç reports from Lashkar Gah, the provincial capital of Helmand, a region in Afghanistan that is predominantly under the control of the Taliban. Separatists groups in Cameroon’s Anglophone region have agreed to come together, to start a process to negotiate a ceasefire with the government.
