How the French city of Limoge prepares for fresh protests

Newsday

Available for 27 days

France is bracing for a weekend of highly restrictive security clampdowns, as trade unions and students once again take to the streets of major cities to demonstrate against the government's handling of the economy. We speak to Guillaume Guerin, the mayor of Limoges. Protests in his city led a fire devastating the historic city hall. Demonstrators have taken part in peaceful protests across Venezuela calling for the interim government to set a date next year for presidential elections. And we return to Nigeria where health authorities are scrambling to track dozens of potential contacts of the Nigerian woman who was the first to be identified as carrying the new strain of the Ebola virus.
