Â鶹Éç Inspirations Awards 2020: finale fandango

Outlook

Available for over a year

Jo Fidgen reveals the final two winners of the Â鶹Éç Inspirations Awards 2020. As a teenager, Ana Baquedano sent a nude selfie to her boyfriend in exchange for a promise to delete it. Instead, he shared it. Ana was bullied, harassed and suffered from depression. But then she got to work making Mexican history. While Ana was still a student, she led a campaign to make 'revenge porn' a crime in her state of Yucatan - and in 2018 the historic legislation was passed. Lorenzo Rojas-Bracho is a Mexican biologist who’s braved poachers and cartels in a quest to save the world’s most endangered marine mammal - a tiny porpoise known as vaquita. There’s only a handful left in the world and their survival is in large part due to Lorenzo. His work with the animal has earned him the nickname ‘Mr Vaquita’. And a virtual fandango performed by Jorge Castillo and the Fandango Fusión Fronteriza.
