The museum displays some of the antiques bequeathed by the late Maurice Dobson (previous owner of the property) and artefacts in two rooms that are illustrative of Darfield's rich heritage. The shop displays and sells a variety of craft items created locally by craftspeople of all ages. These include work in ceramics, wood, cross-stitch, paper, resin and all sorts of art media. The museum has a cafe-gallery serving drinks and home made produce and displays paintings from local artists (usually for sale). The display is changed monthly. There's also a partially covered, stone-flagged patio area suitable for sales of work, displays, small scale concerts and so on at the rear of the museum. This also houses larger artefacts. | | | last updated: 16/06/06 | SEE ALSO
