ItÂ’s
a peculiar thing, the sandwich bar. It seems a simple enough thing,
but the choices! The choices!
Personally,
this cow favours a wide variety. I like to choose bap or baguette,
butter or mayo, English or French mustard - and salt and/or pepper.
And
I also believe that the sandwich is an art form. It can be raised
to the paragon of the Hot Chicken and Swiss (Heroes in Oxford -
the best sandwich I have ever eaten in my whole entire life) or
the depths of the service station pre-packed soggy sarnie.
WoodyÂ’s
is pretty close to a perfect sandwich bar. ItÂ’s got the ingredients,
the hot sandwiches, the variety of breads. (Though could someone
PLEASE get some proper tomato, spinach and olive ciabattas to Sheffield
instead of the dried things everyone seems to offer.) The staff
are young, pretty and friendly, and theyÂ’ll make up whatever
you want in your sandwich.
All
that IÂ’d like is for them to prompt me when IÂ’m in my
early-morning fug. Offer me salad! IÂ’ll pay extra for it! Offer
me salt and pepper! Ask if I want butter or mayo!
That
aside, WoodyÂ’s is great. And the prices are really good for
the size of sandwich that you get. We like.
Liam Woody's sandwiches are fantastic, If you pass that way have their Canadian Steak listed on speciality sandwiches, absolutly Phenomenal! I will be returning very soon. 12/05/05
Dave Great sandwiches.. but queuing up in there with a hangover on a saturday afternoon with dizzy staff taking forever to serve a bunch of loud students who are "larking about" in front of you is probably the closet to purgatory you'll find in Hunters Bar...
Nicole Woodys Rocks!!!
Chris I must agree.... best sandwich bar ever... helps that it's a small step away from my house.
Liz Ward Have to agree that Woody's is probably the best sandwich bar in South Yorkshire - in terms of choice, variety, staff friendliness and price
