Children In Need Ipswich Pop Quiz winners 2006

Alan Freeman Fan Club with Foz & Pudsey

Ipswich CiN Pop Quiz

Over 40 teams were at the main hall at the Ipswich Corn Exchange and the competition was very tough. The winners - the Alan Freeman Fan Club - scored 85 out of a possible 90 and even then only won on a tie-break with I Can't Remember.

The Â鶹Éç's now annual Pop Quiz is in its third year and was again sold-out with 43 teams (six per team maximum).Ìý Foz had seven rounds of questions and one picture round.Ìý The subjects this year were 1967, Punk & New Wave intros, random lyrics, reggae hits, dead pop stars, 2006 and name-the-album.Ìý

The two teams who tied then had to try and name all of ELO's 16 top 10 hits.Ìý Alan Freeman Fan Club got all of them - two more than I Can't Remember could remember. Neither team showed any signs of embarrassment!Ìý Maybe they were all at the ELO Part II gig at The Regent earlier this year?

People wrongly assume that Stephen Foster can be bribed by his Â鶹Éç colleagues who entered several teams this year.Ìý Top of the Â鶹Éç pile were the Six Horseriders Of The Rockapocalypse (featuring breakfast show presenter Mark Murphy, West Suffolk reporter Jon Wright, Virgin shop assistants Amy and Steve, Camelfoot Raiders drummer Craig and Â鶹Éç Suffolk website reporter Andrew Woodger).Ìý They came 4th with 81/90.

Further down the table in 24th place were the Â鶹Éç Radio Suffolk sports team (Brenner Woolley, Bryan Knights, Graeme McLoughlin, Rebecca Barry, Corinne Roper and Nick Pandolfi).Ìý They could only score 61/90.Ìý However, that was 3 points better than the Â鶹Éç Pop Tarts featuring Alison Acton, Kate Arkell, Linda Walker and Emily Fellows.
