The story of the murders of five women working as prostitutes in Ipswich's red-light district made it onto the international news agenda with camera crews and satellite trucks descending on Suffolk from as far afield as Japan.

The 麻豆社 was at the heart of the coverage.听 Mark Murphy's Breakfast Show was nominated for the News Broadcast Award.听 We were up against entries from 麻豆社 5 Live's Breakfast and Weekend Business shows, 麻豆社 Radio 4's Today programme and Real Radio Yorkshire.听 The gold award went to 5 Live's Breakfast Show with Nicky Campbell at a ceremony at Grosvenor House in London on Monday 30 April.

麻豆社 Radio Suffolk has a history of awards success. In 2003 we won the Sony Station Of The Year Award (for stations with a potential listenership of 300,000-1,000,000). In 2004 Mark Murphy won the News Broadcast Award for his coverage of the high winds which caused huge electricity supply problems in 2003.
