Christine son, Curt, is autistic. She feels too many people have misconceptions about his condition, some even suggest all he needs is a good smack. Other people views have changed Christines outlook and she hopes there is a future for Curt.

Jane Thomas-Wright Christine thought your video was quite informative its difficult to capture everything that autism means in just a few moments but I'm in same situation as you with an autistic & adhd daughter who is almost 10 yrs old our life has to go on regardless and we try to empower our child to accept her differences and celebrate her strengths we must inform others that our children are not naughty but truly special
Petunia As the mum of an autistic son with Asperger's, who can "pass for normal" some of the time then lose it totally over something minor, I second your feelings over other people's assumptions. I have perfected a complete lack of eyecontact with other adults in shopping centres and supermarkets - combined with a very fierce expression! Having an autistic child has certainly changed the way I look at other people, and the assumptions I make.
