CHAINSAW BEAR
By Harry Thomas
Harry Thomas is no stranger to making giant sculptures.
Among his prestigious commissions is a 6 foot red squirrel made for the Queen, which stands at Sandringham alongside another two of his carvings.
As Harry saws away at an 8 foot tree trunk, we watch a bear emerge from the wood as if by magic.
Harry shares anecdotes from 18 years as a chainsaw carver and reflects on why bears disappeared from the Herefordshire landscape, remembered only in a handful of pub names.
