Anne questions our idea of poverty. She has seen so-called poor people filling up their supermarket baskets with processed food, when they could eat much more cheaply and much more healthily by buying fresh ingredients. You can make a hearty, nutritious meal by asking the butcher for some meat bones, which cost next to nothing, and boiling them up with vegetables. But people no longer know how to cook, or are too lazy.
