Robots

The new series of Science Cafe with explores the world of robots in the real world - a far cry from their counterparts in science fiction.

Swarming Robots

The project has been set up to explore how tiny cube-like robots could work together as a larger organism. Adam chats to Professor Alan Winfield of the UWE in Bristol.

Drawing Robots

Martian Robots

The European Space Agency scheduled for the end of 2013 hopes to learn from the ill-fated Beagle 2 mission in 2003. The robotic arm for the new to be used on ExoMars, is being developed at . Our reporter John Meredith visits the University to see the latest progress.

Flying Robots

The are experimenting with robot planes to survey inaccessible expanses of the icy region. UAVs (Unmanned Aerial Vehicles) are being tested which can take 100 measurments per second during a pre-programmed flight plan. Dr Phil Anderson of the BAS explains how the tests have been going.
