Last updated: 27 December 2011

Another chance to hear this special edition of Science Cafe as Adam Walton turns quizmaster and tests the scientific knowledge of teams from Glyndwr University and the Bridge End Inn, Ruabon.

Broadcast Tuesday 27th December at 7pm

Adam Walton and the quiz teams

Recorded as part of the recent Wrexham Science Festival, the programme set up shop in the cosy surroundings of the pub, and asked the two teams a wide range of questions covering all corners of science from the periodic table to distant stars.

Will the quick buzzer fingers of the pub quiz regulars outwit the scientific know-how of the Glyndwr academics? Listen in to find out. To get your braincells warmed up, try out these sample questions:

  • What does an ichthyologist study?
  • What is the chemical formula for dry ice?
  • Which Swedish chemist invented dynamite?
