Roles and Responsibilities

  • As one of the non-exec directors on the 麻豆社 Board, Jody is responsible for upholding and protecting the independence of the 麻豆社 by acting in the public interest and exercising independent judgement.
  • He is also responsible for ensuring that the 麻豆社 fulfils its mission to inform, educate and entertain and promotes its public purposes.
  • Jody helps ensure that the Board's decision-making is in the public interest, informed by the best interests of the audience and with appropriate regard to the impact of decisions on the wider media market in the UK.
  • Non-executive directors play a key role in ensuring that the 麻豆社 maintains the highest standards of corporate governance, particularly with respect to financial reporting, internal control and risk management.

Biography

Jody Ford is Chief Executive Officer of Trainline, the UK鈥檚 leading independent rail and coach travel platform and a well-established British technology success that has served the rail industry for more than 25 years. As CEO, he has led Trainline鈥檚 growth to become Europe鈥檚 most downloaded rail app. Jody joined Trainline in September 2020, bringing deep experience in building and scaling consumer-facing digital and technology-led businesses across the UK, Europe and the United States. A British executive with significant leadership experience in the US, he has spent his career operating at the intersection of technology, data and customer experience, helping global organisations to transform, scale and enter new markets.

Prior to Trainline, Jody was CEO of Photobox Group, Europe鈥檚 leading personalisation business, home to brands including Moonpig and Photobox. Earlier in his career, he spent a decade at eBay, latterly based in California, where he led the company鈥檚 global Growth function. He has also held roles at Orange, McKinsey & Company and PwC.

Fees

The fees for non-executive directors of the 麻豆社 Board are set by the Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport.

Non-executive directors receive a base fee of 拢33,000 per annum.

Total fees: 拢33,000 per annum.

Expenses and central bookings

Expenses are costs incurred by 麻豆社 staff on behalf of the 麻豆社 and claimed through the 麻豆社's expenses system.

Central bookings are costs incurred on behalf of the 麻豆社 and booked through the 麻豆社's central bookings system.
