William Henry Fox Talbot is widely recognised as the inventor of modern photography. This view of Loch Katrine was published in 1845 as one of the illustrations for 'Sun Pictures in Scotland'. Inspired by the writings of Sir Walter Scott, this was one of the very first photographically illustrated books.
