Rita

"Sometimes I feel as if I should have taken a qualification in crisis management to help me run this family. Life's so chaotic all the time! The kids are always shooting off all over the place, whether it's to school, work, dancing lessons, chess club - you name it, they do it! It takes all my effort just to keep track of them. And trying to get everyone together in one place at the same time, well, it's virtually impossible.

"So, what with family,Ìýwork, cooking and cleaning, I hardly ever get a chance to stop and think. Sometimes I just have to get to the salon for a bit of peace and quiet. Have my hair done or my eyebrows threaded - you know, a bit of "me" time. Either that or have a good old chat with Rozena. I miss having Jas around now that she's working in New York. Of course Roopa helps me a bit around the house, but she doesn't half moan about it. She's far more interested in herÌýmusic and dancing. I can't believe my baby girl has grown up. Sometimes I think she just doesn't realise how lucky she is. I wish I'd had the opportunities that she and Jas have, but no, instead I had to get married! Finally though, now I've qualified as an interpreter, I can really do something for myself for once - and get into the real - adult - world!

"Will you listen to me? I sound like a right moaner, but believe me that's what I hate. Live life to the full, that's my motto. Make the most of what you've got. I wouldn't want my kids to be anything other than full of life - that's what frustrates me about Pradeep sometimes, he needs a bit more get up and go!"
