Mushtaq gets to Mani first but he takes the news quite well saying Jodie is his daughter after all. He's relieved the truth has come out and it might allow them both to move on. Anyway, has Mushtaq voted yet? Mushtaq says he has and tries to find out who Mani voted for - Councillor Malik by any chance?
Later, the local election winner is announced as Councillor Shaheen Malik. Pradeep is delighted because she might support the allotment situation. Kuljit reckons he can see Pradeep's courgettes being right at the top of her agenda!
Mani tells Jodie it's no bad thing that people know. He stands up and makes an announcement to the entire restaurant. He is sorry for embarrassing Jodie but at the same time is proud to be her dad and isn't hiding it anymore. Jodie says they don't need the attention but Mani disagrees. They can't let the past hold them back.
Rita has a tutorial with Hilary who tells her how impressive her work is. He continues complimenting her saying he feels really close to her despite them hardly knowing each other and is pleased when Rita says she may feel the same way. So says Hilary where do we go from here?
