Radio 3, Radio 4 and Radio 7

Project Canvas
The Â鶹Éç Trust has given approval to the Â鶹Éç's involvement in Project Canvas, subject to a number of conditions.
Project Canvas is a joint venture between the Â鶹Éç and six other partners to develop and promote a common standard that will allow viewers with a broadband connection to watch on-demand services and other internet content as well as ordinary TV content through their television sets.
The Trust has reached its decision after a rigorous process of assessment, including three conclusions.
The Audience Council represented the views of local audiences to the Trust throughout the assessment process, noting potential audience benefits as well as important considerations for both consumers and content suppliers. The Council made three submissions to the Trust.
Television Services Review
The Trust conducted a review of Â鶹Éç One, Â鶹Éç Two and Â鶹Éç Four. It carried out a public consultation to understand what audiences like or dislike about these services and what the Â鶹Éç should do to improve them. The Trust published its interim findings in July 2010 and its final conclusions in November 2010.
Red Button
The Trust also reviewed the Red Button interactive service, drawing on a public consultation alongside other evidence.
Editorial Guidelines
One of the roles of the Trust is to approve the Â鶹Éç Editorial Guidelines – the standards required of those making programmes and other content for the Â鶹Éç. The Guidelines are reviewed every five years.
The Â鶹Éç Executive recently issued a new set of Guidelines in draft and the Trust consulted publicly on them.
The new Guidelines have been published, following the Trust's review and approval.
