In
November 2001, Spencer Stokes - Bradford's Reporter for Â鶹Éç Radio
Leeds - went out-and-about looking at the state of the textile industry
across the Bradford district...
Salt's
Mill also closed in the 1980s and the complex is now home to factory
and office space, shops and an art gallery. The mill - and Sir Titus
Salt's model village - have placed Saltaire firmly on the tourist
trail.
Although
the looms are now silent goods are still manufactured at Salt's
Mill. P.A.C.E. Microtechnology manufacture satellite-receiver TV
boxes. It is still a case of keeping it in the family with the relatives
of those who used to slave over the looms now pouring over circuit
boards.
