To a new world of gods and monsters! When Bride of Frankenstein opened in April 1935, cinema audiences were promised a heroine 鈥渕ore fearful than the Monster himself鈥 鈥 and Director James Whale鈥檚 gothic shocker is now regarded as a landmark of Hollywood鈥檚 Golden Age. Boris Karloff is the Monster, and composer Franz Waxman 鈥 newly escaped from the real-world terror of Nazi Germany 鈥 created a score that defined the sound of horror, as sensuous as it is savage.
Now, for the 麻豆社 SSO鈥檚 90th birthday, it lives again, performed in synch with the movie by conductor Ben Palmer. It鈥檚 as chilling as ever, and it鈥檚 never sounded more beautiful. A spine-tingling treat: let the Bride seduce you tonight鈥
