Experience the music of Scandinavian contemporaries Nielsen and Sibelius, whose music is close to the heart of our Chief Conductor Sakari Oramo.

Nielsen鈥檚 rhapsody overture portrays a sea-borne journey while Sibelius鈥� portrait of the fabled Finnish hero Lemmink盲inen, which includes The Swan of Tuonela, is rarely encountered complete and contains some of his most atmospheric music. Detlev Glanert鈥檚 Megaris evokes the siren Parthenope, who drowned herself in sorrow at her rejection by Odysseus.
