I was born and brought up in the North of England and have spent most of my working life here - well, apart from when I was reporting in Hong Kong!

Before working for the Â鶹Éç I worked right across the news industry.

I've covered countless stories and perhaps the biggest were the Bradford riots for Channel 4 and the huge earthquake in Turkey for 5 News.

When I’m not working I polish my caravan, play lawn bowls and crochet life size models of South Yorkshire landmarks...

In reality I like motorcycling, watching Middlesbrough Football Club muster a goal-less draw and eating cheese and onion pasties.
