Time Management
Getting organised

The easiest way of making sure your work is done in time and you don’t miss deadlines is to plan your work, identifying your Important, Necessary and Time-waster activities and allocating the appropriate amount of time to them.

You may hate planning and prefer only to study when the mood takes you. Unfortunately, you might then find a backlog of work is quickly building up and you’re feeling stressed out because you can’t get it done in time. The quality of your work will also suffer.

How much time do I have?
Make a framework for your study plan by putting the following information into a diary or calendar.
  • Day/times of lessons/lectures
  • Exam dates
  • Holidays/work commitments
  • Deadlines — recording this information enables you to see when you have heavy demands on your time and when you have more flexibility to include other activities

You will then be able to see how much time you have to organise your studies.
