Taking control

Now take control over allocating what time you have left.

  • Make a list of things you need to do, and prioritise what needs doing into Important, Necessary and Time-waster.
  • Break down your workload into specific targets for each study period. It will make those big important projects seem less daunting and you will have a sense of achievement.
  • Estimate how long each task will take. You can then set a realistic amount of time for each activity.
  • Set yourself early deadlines and build in extra time in case the work takes longer than expected. You will also feel less pressurised.
  • Allow some time for leisure.
  • Keep your diary and list up-to-date, ticking off completed work and amending your timings if necessary.
  • Short regular sessions are normally more effective providing the time is well balanced.
Take a look at the website for some more tips.
