Blanchard shared this picture with us showing the floods in
Trusthorpe. Her Grandparents lived in one of the houses shown
in the picture. They were rescued from their house by boat.
After
the 1953 floods, in Alford a tea was given for the Duchess
of Gloucester at the congregation chapel on Chantry Road in
Alford. Ìý In the photo is Councillor Coles, Mr Stephenson
and Mr Thompson. Ìý Sylvia Cussons gave us this photograph
as her mother is in the shot with some other local ladies.
