Queensway Tunnel Tour - Construction

Ìý

Site of tunnel drilling
Although the work was carried out by hand the initial digging was done by a drill.

external tunnel construction
The external construction of the tunnel.

Construction Work
Work on the sides of the tunnel being carried out.

The Tunnel
The tunnel is actually circular although when you drive through it appears to be only semi-circular. This is because a tram line was originally going to occupy the bottom half of the tunnel.
