Standing on the wing of a flying plane is a big achievement at any age - but one 98-year-old has proved that you're never too old for an adventure.

Harry Heasman has officially landed a place in the Guinness World Records as the oldest person to perform a wing walk.

He completed the daring challenge at Duxford Airfield in Cambridgeshire.

Mr Heasman called it "the most incredible experience" of his life and said he would do it "all over again" if he could.

Mr Heasman decided to take on the wing walk to raise money for charity, after admitting it was something he had dreamed of doing since he was a young child.

He was strapped to the top of a 1940s Boeing Stearman plane for the adventure.

Mr Heasman stood on the aircraft for nine minutes as it soared high above the ground.

During the wing walk, the plane climbed more than 1,000 metres (3,280ft) in the air.

Speaking after the flight, Mr Heasman said: "I feel 1,000 times different and 100 times better than I ever have.

"To finally live that dream at 98 years old, and to be a Guinness World Record holder, is beyond anything I could have ever imagined," he added.
