African Connection
Here you can get a flavour of the WOMAD workshops where individuals sampled some African rhythms and learned about the wide variety of music from the continent.

 Workshop 1 - Drums
Led by percussionist, African violin player and vocalist Ade Wallace, the first workshop demonstrated how to create different sounds and effects using the drums.

 Workshop 2 - Vocals
Doreen Thobekile singer, dancer, actor and instrumentalist, led the second workshop of the day. She concentrated on teaching the correct pronunciation and techniques.

 Workshop 3 - Marimba
Wedzerai Zvirevo,
from the acclaimed 'Batanai Marimba' group, spoke about the history and scope of the marimba in the final workshop.
