Andi Dawson
Andi Dawson

I have lived in Belfast for almost 10 years now and I'm starting to think of this place as home. I have been writing since my first year of High School, when my English teacher said she thought I had a knack for words. I haven't got a personal website just now, but you can hear some of my work via . (The Â鶹Éç is not responsible for the content of external internet sites.)

Lost by Andi Dawson

ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý(After arguing and splitting up, this couple get back in touch.
They've only been apart for a while, but they've missed each other so ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýmuch.
He phoned to say that they should meet, get a coffee, just sit and talk.
She needed to clear her head first so she decided not to catch a cab,
ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý but walk.)

ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýThis is what happened...

ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýThe high street was noisy, but her mind was somewhere quiet.
ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýShe thought of buying a cake, forgetting about her diet.
She'd got thirty minutes till she was meeting him, she was surprisingly ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýcalm.
She finally realised there was no point in causing each other mental ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýharm.

ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýAfter buying her cake and tucking in, she began to cross the street.
ÌýÌýIt was turning into a perfect day, the sun was showering her with heat.
ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýThe cake was so soft, full of cream, and everything seemed so nice.
ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýCrossing the street she simply forgot to look left and right.

ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýThe car didn’t have time to stop, before ploughing into her side.
ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýPeople stood around in shock, some of them even cried.
ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýShe lay on the floor still breathing, but very badly hurt.
ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýSomewhere she could hear the twittering of a bird.

ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýHer body began to go numb, as the siren sound grew near.
ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýShe lay their thinking of her love, her thoughts were very clear.
ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýShe began to drift off, her breathing was very light.
ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýJust before she died her man came into sight.

ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý------------------------

ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýHe had walked from the car park, down the street where she lay.
ÌýÌýHe usually went a different route, but for some reason he hadn’t today.
ÌýÌýÌýÌýAs he walked round the corner he saw a crowd of people up ahead.
ÌýÌýÌýÌýAs he got closer he saw his love's pretty face, not realising she was ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýdead.

ÌýÌýHe couldn’t comprehend what had happened, that couldn’t be her lying ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýthere.
ÌýÌýThey were meeting in twenty minutes, to tell each other they still cared.
As the paramedics tried to save her, he collapsed to his knees.
ÌýÌýÌýÌýEventually they decided to stop, he begged them “Continue, please.â€

ÌýA sheet was pulled over her face, she was lifted onto an ambulance bed.
ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýHe got in beside her, thinking of all the things they hadn’t said.
The drive to the hospital was slow, the thoughts were spinning round his ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýbrain.
ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýHe would never hear her laugh, or joke, or sing a song again.

ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýThey had wasted the last few days, both had acted like fools.
ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýBut what had happened just wasn’t fair, fate had been so cruel.
Now he would never be the same, his soul mate had been stolen from his ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýlife.
ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýHe could never tell her that he wanted her to be his lawfully wedded ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýwife.
