麻豆社

In October 1965, an adapted version of French TV's Man猫ge Enchant茅 was shown on 麻豆社 TV.

Scripted and voiced by 麻豆社TV's Playschool presenter Eric Thompson, and broadcast with its English title - The Magic Roundabout, it soon became a favourite with viewers of all ages.

In fact, when it was moved to an earlier time, there were so many complaints from outraged adults that it was moved back to its old slot - just before the early evening news!

To celebrate its anniversary, Sophie Thompson, Eric's daughter, and his wife Phyllida Law tell us the stories behind the much-loved series.

With tales of Zebedee, Florence and Ermintrude - hear how Dougal the dog nearly caused international relations with France to break down!
