Cathy NicDhòmhnaill le tagradh às leth Comataidh nan Suidheachaidhean Èiginneach, an DEC.

Tagradh as leth Comataidh nan Suidheachaidhean Èiginneach. Air Diluain bhuail crith-thalmhainn mhòr taobh an ear-dheas na Tuirc agus ceann a tuath Shiria ann an uairean beaga na maidne, a' toirt bàs agus sgrios. Fhad 'sa bha daoine a' cadal, thuit na togalaichean mun cuairt orra. Tha luchd-obrach sgrùdaidh is teasairginn air a bhith a’ feuchainn ri daoine a tha glaiste fon sprùilleach a ruighinn, ach tha coltas ann gun lean a’ chìs bàis ag èirigh.

Tha an tagradh seo a’ sireadh airgead gus biadh agus taic èiginneach a thoirt do dhaoine fo bhuaidh na crith-thalmhainn. Cathy MacDonald presents an appeal on behalf of the Disasters Emergency Committee.

On Monday, a large earthquake struck the south-east of Turkey and the north of Syria in the early hours of the morning, causing death and destruction. While people were sleeping, the buildings around them collapsed. Search and rescue workers have been trying to reach people trapped under the rubble, but the death toll is likely to continue to rise.

This appeal is seeking funds to provide food and emergency aid to people affected by the earthquake. You can donate online at dec.org.uk: or by phone on: 0370 60 60 610, write a check to 'DEC Turkey-Syria Earthquake Appeal' and post to:- PO Box 999, London, EC3A 3AA.
