Eleanor and Simon are spending the summer at their country estate on which Ruth, and her son John, live and work.

Simon is aged nearly 12, John is 18. He befriends the lonely, younger boy.

John's own family life has been shattered by his father鈥檚 recent suicide.

All four have their lives transformed with a shocking outcome that reveals the complexity of adult desire
