In Search of a Mega Tick

4 Extra Debut. The search for a different breed of bird watcher on the Isles of Scilly 鈥 鈥榯witchers鈥 with a need to 鈥榯ick鈥. From 1985.

**** This programme was suggested by Philip Lowden as part of 麻豆社 Radio 4 Extra鈥檚 All Request Weekend ****

There are ordinary bird-watchers and there are 'twitchers'.

Each autumn this strange breed descends on the Isles of Scilly in search of their quarry.

Sue Hicks joined last year's migration and discovered that twitchers have their own language and plumage, and are driven by a compulsive urge to 'tick'.

Producer: Andrew Vivian

First broadcast on 麻豆社 Radio 4 in 1985.
