Author and garden designer Vita Sackville-West shares with the listeners some of her simple personal pleasures in life.
The Sackville-West family used the expression 鈥榯hrough leaves鈥 as shorthand for 鈥榳alking through leaves鈥 to describe these moments. This then morphed into 鈥榯hrough leave-ness鈥 or 鈥榯hrough leavery鈥.
Among her simple pleasures were a smooth-running drawer and the action of her new French corkscrew.
First broadcast on the 麻豆社 Home Service in February 1950.
