Wrestling Belt, Penny-Farthing, Miniature Garden
Eileen’s miniature garden gets Nigel nostalgic, Jacqui has a go on Jon’s precarious-looking penny-farthing, and the dealers take on a mysterious Mexican wrestler.
Starting strong today, as we welcome a masked Mexican wrestler, or luchador, to the room. His true identity may be a secret, but his purpose here is clear – to make as much money as he can from his championship belt.
Jon pops in next, with a penny-farthing bicycle. It’s probably more of a prop than a viable method of transport these days, but knowing the dealers, no doubt someone – OK, Ian – will want to take it for a test drive before they make an offer.
Eileen, our third seller of the day, seems to get Nigel all nostalgic with her miniature garden. But will her horticultural toy cultivate enough interest among the men and women with the money?
Next to try his luck is Richard. He’s brought an art deco lamp all the way from Bristol. Incredibly fashionable at the moment, art deco is all about luxury finishes and strong geometric forms, and his lamp certainly seems to make a big impression on the panel.
Musician Pooja is hoping to hear a chorus of offers when she unveils her vintage harmonium. Her offer of Bollywood dancing lessons should she sell will be music to the ears of some of the dealers but maybe not to all of them!
