A grieving writer and father of two young boys is coming to terms with the death of his wife while writing a book about Ted Hughes.

Dad struggles to cope until an unexpected visitor, Crow, arrives.

Crow is a therapist, healer and a 鈥榝eathered Mary Poppins鈥�, who promises to stay until he is no longer needed.

Max Porter鈥檚 multi award-winning novel, first published in 2015.

Its title is derived from the Emily Dickinson poem, 鈥溾�楬ope鈥� is the Thing with Feathers鈥� and the Ted Hughes work, 鈥楥row鈥�.
