Seamie O’Dowd agus Daoirí Farrell

Featuring Seamie O’Dowd and Daoirí Farrell, two masters of Irish traditional music who display innate musical skill and an instinct for collaboration .

Ó bhí sé ar an raidió ag deich mbliana d’aois, tá Seamie O’Dowd ar dhuine de na ceoltóirí is aitheanta in Éirinn. Is é Seamie an comhpháirtí comhoibritheach idéalach do Dhaoirí Farrell a bhfuil iomrá air mar amhránaí le deich mbliana anuas. Is é an comhoibriú a spreagann an dara chlár de CUMASC: Seisiúin sa Black Gate. Beidh meascán de scannán ceolchoirme, cleachtaidh taifeadta, agallaimh agus go leor eile le feiceáil san eagrán seo. Agus iad ag comhoibriú le chéile tá oidhreacht an cheoil traidisiúnta in Éirinn le feiceáil go mion san ábhar atá cruthaithe acu.

Since making his first radio appearance at the age of ten, Seamie O’Dowd has been one of Ireland’s most respected musicians. Seamie is the ideal collaborative partner for Daoirí Farrell, who is one of the most important voices to emerge in Irish folk music in the last decade. Their collaboration is what drives the second episode of CUMASC: Seisiúin sa Black Gate, a blend of concert film, recorded rehearsal and interviews. Their final collaborative performance of the programme is a testament to their skill, their deep understanding of musical heritage and future possibilities.
