Funny, gobby and resourceful, 12-year-old Georgie decides to live on her own after her mother dies - and she is doing a good job of convincing the world, and herself, that she is coping. Stealing bikes with her friend Ali pays the rent, and Georgie has tricked social workers into believing that her uncle is living with her. When her father turns up out of the blue, she must decide for herself if she can trust this unknown quantity calling himself dad.
