Hymns for Lent

For the first Sunday in Lent, Pam Rhodes introduces glorious hymns that reflect the themes of the season, including trial, temptation, sacrifice and God鈥檚 enduring love.

For the first Sunday in Lent, Pam Rhodes is at Launde Abbey in Leicestershire to introduce much-loved hymns that reflect the themes of the season, including trial, temptation, sacrifice and God鈥檚 enduring love.

She also explores the deep meaning in the account of Jesus being tested in the wilderness, and Sean Fletcher reads encouraging words from the Bible.

The music includes Forty Days and Forty Nights, from Hereford Cathedral, Be Not Afraid, from Guildhall, Londonderry, and from St Martin鈥檚 Church in Stamford, O Love That Wilt Not Let Me Go.

To further add to the musical feast, we have some wonderful performances. World-renowned boys choir Libera sing Nearer My God to Thee.
