Dvořák's Symphony No. 9 in E minor from the Royal Scottish National Orchestra

Linton Stephens introduces an afternoon of specially made recordings including a performance of Dvořák's Symphony No. 9 from the Royal Scottish National Orchestra.

Linton Stephens brings you an afternoon of exclusive music-making. Today, there is a continuation of the week-long focus on the Royal Scottish National Orchestra. Conductor Patrick Hahn joins the orchestra in a performance of Dvořák's dynamic and powerful Symphony No. 9 in E minor, "From the New World" and soprano Sunyoung Seo sings Wagner's Prelude & Liebestod from Tristan & Isolde. Also in the programme, chamber music composed by Ravel and Haydn. The Takacs Quartet play Haydn's String Quartet in C major, Ensemble Sésame play Ravel's Piano Trio in A minor and Freiburg Baroque Orchestra play Haydn's Divertimento in E flat. Plus the artists in focus are renowned Dutch piano duo, Lucas and Arthur Jussen who perform Mendelssohn's Concerto for Two Pianos in E with the Danish National Symphony Orchestra.
