Aled Jones is at St Asaph Cathedral in north Wales for the Royal Maundy service, where HM the King honours Christians for outstanding service to church and community.

Aled joins TM the King and Queen in the congregation at St Asaph and learns from the Lord High Almoner, the Right Reverend Graham Usher, Bishop of Norwich, the history of the service and why it has been so special to the monarchy for over 800 years.

Aled also meets two of the 154 Christians honoured by His Majesty, discovering how Dr Alan Mayer has made his church the centre of the village for 50 years and how Jan McTear serves a popular lunch to combat loneliness in her community.

With glorious music to reflect the example of Jesus’ life of service.
