He鈥檚 the best tennis player in the world, but how did he get there? 麻豆社 Sport鈥檚 tennis correspondent Russell Fuller went to the birthplace of Jannik Sinner in the Dolomites in Italy and met the people who made him a world beater. Sinner grew up in a small village in the mountains, that was once part of Austria and where German is the main language.
He could have become a professional skier, having been Italian champion aged 8, but at just 13 years old he moved to the other side of the country to live away from his family to chase his dream of becoming a top tennis player. The young Sinner had to get to grips with speaking Italian and English and has gone on to become a four time Grand Slam Champion and an Italian sporting icon.
