Justice for Harry Stanley

In September 1999 Harry Stanley visited his brother to mend a broken table leg. What followed was a tragic case of prejudice and mistaken identity with fatal consequences.

Having recently recovered from a cancer operation, Scottish labourer Harry Stanley decided to visit his brother in Hackney on a rainy September day in 1999 to fix a broken coffee table leg. On his way home, an erroneous tip from a pub to the police set off a shocking chain of events that would change his family鈥檚 lives forever. A traumatised local community recollects memories from that night and the seismic shockwaves of its aftermath. Both his family and local residents are still struggling to process what happened, over 26 years later.
