Alex Humphreys presents an afternoon of exclusive music-making from the UK and beyond, with performances captured at two major European festivals. From the Baltic Sea Festival, we hear early music performed by the award-winning period-instrument ensemble Il Pomo d鈥橭ro, joined by countertenor Jakub J贸zef Orli艅ski. Soprano Malin Bystr枚m joins the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra for music by Alma Mahler.

Elsewhere in the Baltic region, the Estonian National Symphony Orchestra and conductor Olari Elts perform Brahms鈥檚 expansive Third Symphony and Kod谩ly鈥檚 colourful Suite from H谩ry J谩nos, featuring cimbalom.

From the East Neuk Festival, the Calidore Quartet perform Barber鈥檚 haunting Adagio for Strings, followed by Schubert鈥檚 much-loved Trout Quintet, with pianist Christian Zacharias, the Cuarteto Quiroga and double bassist Ander Perrino Cabello.
