Aled Jones and Rev Kate Bottley host this year鈥檚 麻豆社 Young Chorister of the Year, which begins with the junior semi-final at Hall茅 St Peter鈥檚 in Manchester. Once again, Songs of Praise and 麻豆社 Radio 2 have come together to showcase the best young vocal talents, beginning with five talented singers aged 11 to 13 who perform a sacred song for expert judges David Grant, Laura Wright and Cameron Richardson.
The programme features the much-loved hymns Amazing Grace, Lord of the Dance, Dear Lord and Father of Mankind and Were You There When They Crucified My Lord, alongside The Lord Is My Shepherd by Howard Goodall. The choristers all come together to sing the modern hymn The Summons, written by John Bell and arranged by Helen Leach.
