Flo and Sue are in Stevenage to help mother and daughter Margaret and Elizabeth transform their south-facing garden. While blessed with sunlight, the space is currently a chaotic jumble of mismatched plant pots, overgrown bushes and uneven, sloped steps, making it overwhelming and difficult to enjoy. Their dream is to turn it into a mother鈥揹aughter retreat with a serene, shaded relaxation garden.
Elizabeth and Margaret envision a charming pergola draped in delicate vines, offering a peaceful spot to unwind together. Wider, gently sloping steps and accessible raised beds will allow Margaret to continue her beloved gardening safely, while lush, in-ground plants reduce maintenance. They also hope for privacy screening and planting that discreetly hides the shed at the back of the garden.
Elizabeth juggles a demanding full-time job with caring for her ageing mother, leaving little time to work on the garden. Margaret is retired and longing to enjoy the outdoors, but her partial sight makes the current low-lying plants and treacherous steps a real obstacle to relaxation and upkeep.
Can the team turn this challenging plot into a peaceful mother鈥揹aughter retreat on a 拢4,500 budget?
