Chaudhray: Newcastle owner Ashley was 'agitated and frustrated'
Vivek Chaudhary, journalist for The Independent, describes his chance meeting with Mike Ashley where the Newcastle owner suggested manager Alan Pardew had "one more game", adding 鈥淚f we lose against Stoke on Monday night then he鈥檚 gone. I have had enough.鈥�
The quotes were downplayed on Friday by Ashley's lawyer as a joke "intended to be tongue-in-cheek". However the journalist insisted "at no time did I get a sense it was tongue-in-cheek".
