A defector from North Korea says it is 鈥渕andatory鈥� to watch public executions in the secretive state.

Hyeonseo Lee, who witnessed her first execution at 7 years old, fled across the border into China aged 17.

"It was shocking鈥� said Lee as she described what she saw. "I didn鈥檛 know what was execution even at the time. When I went home I told my mum, what is that?鈥�
