The British Library celebrates Fela Kuti's life and music
The British Library, in London, has just opened an exhibition on West African art and culture.
To mark the event, and to celebrate the 77th birthday of the late Nigerian afrobeat legend Fela Kuti, it organised a mega-concert, called Felabration like the annual festival held in his honour in Lagos and other parts of the world.
The concert brought together some of his closest collaborators, like his former keyboard player Dele Sosimi and his drummer Tony Allen, and many younger musicians, including 2Face Idibia, Bumi Thomas, Audrey Gbaguidi, Afrikan Boy, Laura Mvula, Terri Walker, Shingai Shoniwa, The Floacist and Ed Keazor.
The 麻豆社鈥檚 Manuel Toledo went to the concert and spoke to some of the artists.
